PATCALA is the Performing & Theatre Arts Caucus of the ALA (African Literature Association). It is a network of scholars, students, teachers, writers, and artists working on African performing arts, theatre, cultures, and related areas. PATCALA promotes critical discussions of storytelling and theatre-making on stage, screen, internet, and multimedia in aesthetic, historical, social, and global contexts.
