The Children's African Book Awards invites suggestions of titles to be considered for the category of "New Adult" books. The award recognizes a a book by an African author marketed to adults but suitable for mature high school students. Preferably, the book is a coming of age story or has a youthful protagonist. The previous winner that best fits the criteria is Born a Crime by Trevor Noah. Books that also fit the criteria but were published before the award was established are: Purple Hibiscus and Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Optimally, we would like the book to be published recently.
