Further, given political attacks that target, in particular, the Advanced Placement curriculum for African American Studies and teaching about race and racism in our classrooms, the ALA stands in support of educators who seek to provide instruction on literatures from Africa and the African diaspora and to freely engage in scholarly conversation and civil debate about matters vital to our community.
