Assistant or Associate Professor; African, African American, and Diaspora Studies—UNC Chapel Hill

The Department of African, African American, and Diaspora Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor in African Studies. Colleagues note that the Department has a strong cohort of African Studies faculty, and is a title VI African Area Studies center. In addition, the first cohort of Africana Studies PhD studies will be enrolled in Fall 2025. The Department is searching for a social scientist or cultural studies scholar at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The research area is open, but with a preference for topics relating to Black queer studies or environmental studies. The review of applications begins on October 30, 2024.
