The European Conference on African Studies (ECAS) 2023 will take place from May 31 to June 3, 2023 in Cologne, Germany. The conference theme is African futures.
We are pleased to organize a panel entitled Bad genre: “counter literature”, generic rewritings and imagining African futures (Lang08) which will offer compared analyses of rewritings and inventions of supposedly minor genres in the literature in English from several African countries and how they may be seen as coming together to delineate possible African futures. More details can be found here: https://nomadit.co.uk/conference/ecas2023/p/12440
At the bottom of that page, you will find a tab entitled 'Propose paper' through which you can submit your abstract for this panel. Proposals must be submitted online by January 23.
Please consider submitting a proposal (250 words abstract) to our panel, or other literature panels listed here on the programme:

You can read the conference theme here, and then browse the full list of panels.
And please circulate the call for papers in your own networks.
Looking forward to reading your proposals,
Kind regards,
