PhD scholarship available at SOAS on the Literatures of the Horn of Africa starting from September 2017.

Overseas students are eligible, and Ethiopian, Eritrean, Djiboutian and Somali nationals are particularly welcome to apply.
The three main requirements are 1) a knowledge of two or more languages of the Horn (particularly Amharic, Geez, Tigrinya, Oromo or Somali), 2) a MA degree in literature, theatre, history, cultural studies or similar disciplines in the humanities, and 3) a comparative research proposal that engages with theories of world literature and whose focus are two or more literary traditions (oral or written) of the Horn
