Assistant Professor specializing in African American Literature Search 2018
The Department of English at Lake Forest College seeks to fill a tenure-track position for an Assistant Professor specializing in African-American literature. This position carries a 3-3 load of undergraduate courses, to include 19 th- and 20 th /21 st- c. African-American literature survey courses, other specialized courses in African-American literature, College Writing, Introduction to Literary Studies, and possibly a first-year studies seminar. The successful candidate will have a PhD in English with a specialization in African-American literature and will be able to provide evidence of teaching effectiveness. Applicants must submit a letter of application, a curriculum vitae, three reference letters, a statement of teaching philosophy, and a twenty-page sample of their scholarship by November 15th, 2018. Reference letters must be submitted by the referring parties and not come directly from the candidate. Preliminary interviews will be conducted at the upcoming MLA Conference.
