Assistant Professor specializing in African American Literature Search 2018

The Department of English at Lake Forest College seeks to fill a tenure-track position for an Assistant Professor specializing in African-American literature. This position carries a 3-3 load of undergraduate courses, to include 19 th- and 20 th /21 st- c. African-American literature survey courses, other specialized courses in African-American literature, College Writing, Introduction to Literary Studies, and possibly a first-year studies seminar. The successful candidate will have a PhD in English with a specialization in African-American literature and will be able to provide evidence of teaching effectiveness. Applicants must submit a letter of application, a curriculum vitae, three reference letters, a statement of teaching philosophy, and a twenty-page sample of their scholarship by November 15th, 2018. Reference letters must be submitted by the referring parties and not come directly from the candidate.
